Form Plywood F17
F17 form plywood, also called formply or formwork plywood, is a structural F17 rated sheet with a smooth black phenolic film on both faces. It's built for concrete formwork, giving a clean off-form finish and easy stripping, and it's tough enough for general site and workshop use.

What is formwork plywood used for?
Builders and concreters use formwork plywood to shutter slabs, footings, walls, columns and edge forms. The black film resists moisture and concrete splash, so the face releases cleanly and sheets can be reused when they're handled, cleaned and oiled properly. The 17mm sheets are the everyday choice for most residential formwork, while 25mm formply suits heavier pours and longer spans where you need extra stiffness.

What does F17 mean on plywood?
F17 is a stress grade under Australian standards that indicates the sheet's structural strength and stiffness. F17 formply is rated for load-bearing formwork, which is why it's the standard choice for slabs and walls.
What thickness formply do I need?
17mm is the most common thickness for residential slabs, footings and walls. Choose 25mm for deeper pours, higher concrete pressures or wider spans between supports.
How many times can I reuse formwork plywood?
Reuse depends on handling. Clean sheets after each pour, apply a form release agent, and seal any cut edges to keep moisture out and get the most uses from each sheet.
Is formply waterproof?
The black phenolic film protects both faces from moisture and concrete, but cut edges should be sealed. Formply isn't intended as a permanent exposed exterior cladding.
